Device Not Authorized Error

Last updated: jun 17, 20262 min read.

We are experiencing technical difficulties. This device is not authorized.

When this error appears it means that SketchUp was unable to verify your subscription when you attempted to login. SketchUp needs to verify your subscription at least once every 28 days and needs an active internet connection to do so.

This error may occur when:

  • You aren’t connected to the internet. SketchUp needs to communicate with the Trimble servers to verify your subscription.

  • There is a problem with your SketchUp installation.

  • You entered the wrong login credentials.

  • There is a problem with Trimble’s authentication servers.

You can troubleshoot this error in the following ways:

  • Check your internet connection. If your device is showing as connected, disconnect from the internet and connect again. If the issue persists you may need to contact your internet service provider.

  • Reinstall or repair your SketchUp installation. See Uninstalling or Repairing SketchUp for more information.

  • Double check that you’ve entered the correct login information. For some common login troubleshooting, see Troubleshooting Trimble Identity.

  • Wait a few minutes and try again. If there is an issue on our end, we’ll try our best to communicate approximate downtime.
