Collection Details
The Collection Details page lets you enter detailed information about a collection. The more details you add, the easier it is for other users to find your public collections.
For collections you create through your content library, you can fill out the Collection Details page during the creation process. For more information, see Creating Collections.
Collections that you create from content you opened while browsing 3D Warehouse will have a title but no other information. You can add details by editing these collections. For more information, see Editing Collections.
To access the Collection Details page after creating a collection, follow these steps:
Navigate to your content library. For details, see Accessing Your Content Library.
Click My Collections. The My Collections tab appears.
- Locate the collection you want to view the details for and click Edit (
). For information on how to navigate to a collections while editing it, see Editing Collections.
The Collections Details page contains the following editable fields:
- Edit Thumbnail: Lets you replace the default thumbnail for the collection with a custom image. If you don’t add an image before adding content, the first model you add to your collection will be used as the default thumbnail image.
Note: To display a custom thumbnail for the collection, click the Edit Thumbnail button. Then upload, preview, and save the new image.
Title (required): Collection name. You can modify this name at any time.
Description: Describes your collection. For example, you might explain the types of models or materials you have added to your collection. The more details, the easier it is for other users to find your collection if it’s public.
External Url: Provides a URL for a website that other 3D Warehouse users can use to learn more about you. For example, if your collection contains models for a development project you plan to build, you can link to your development’s website. When others are viewing your collection, they can click Learn More to go to the page you designate here.
Category: Lists categories to characterize your collection. These categories correspond to the filter categories in 3D Warehouse and can improve search results for your collection.
Subcategory: Lists sub-categories related to the category you have selected to further define your collection.
Delete Collection: Deletes the collection.
Collection Settings: Lets you toggle between the private and public collection settings. If you turn on the Private Collection setting, your collection is only visible to yourself. If you turn off the setting, your collection is available to other 3D Warehouse users.
