What is SketchUp for Schools?
SketchUp for Schools is a free 3D modeling app available to primary and secondary schools on web and iPad platforms. The SketchUp for Schools web-based app is compatible with Chromebooks and other web-enabled devices. On iPad, SketchUp for Schools is available in the Apple App Store and works with a wide range of iPad models.
Both feature a built-in curriculum to help students and teachers confidently improve their 3D modeling skills.
Who can use SketchUp for Schools?
Sketchup for Schools is free for any primary or secondary school (K-12) enrolled with Google for Education or Microsoft Education.
What do I need to access SketchUp for Schools?
You can access SketchUp for Schools through your web browser with Google for Education or Microsoft Education. The web version has the same system requirements as SketchUp for Web. For more information, see What You Need.
If you want to use the SketchUp for Schools app on an iPad, you can access it using Google for Education. The iPad version of SketchUp for Schools has the same system requirements as SketchUp for iPad. For more information on those requirements, see iPad System Requirements.
What is the difference between SketchUp for Schools, SketchUp for Higher Education, and other SketchUp offerings?

Yes. SketchUp for Schools is designed for primary and secondary (K-12) students and teachers.
Can a teacher accept application permissions on behalf of a student?
Application permissions can only be granted by the domain administrator.

Data Privacy
Does Sketchup for Schools comply with COPPA and other US federal student privacy regulations?
Yes, SketchUp for Schools is COPPA-compliant and doesn't store any personally identifiable information (PII) and doesn't transmit any user data to third-party applications.
Does Sketchup for Schools comply with GDPR requirements?

Why does SketchUp for Schools ask for permission to access my Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account?
SketchUp for Schools uses cloud services like Google Drive and OneDrive to save and retrieve project files and requires permission to access those accounts. SketchUp for Schools will not open, modify or delete files in Google Drive or OneDrive without user input.
