Getting Started with Trimble Connect

Last updated: Aug 5, 20262 min read.

Just like your SketchUp subscription, Trimble Connect uses your Trimble ID. If you access Trimble Connect through SketchUp, you’ll already be logged in. If you access Trimble Connect through the browser or desktop apps, you’ll need to login with your Trimble ID.

Your Trimble Connect Profile

The first time you access Trimble Connect from SketchUp, a prompt appears asking you to complete your Trimble Connect profile. This profile is separate from your Trimble ID profile, and is only used for Trimble Connect.

You can fill out any of these fields now, or finish later. For more details on setting up your Trimble Connect profile, see Set up Your Connect Profile.

After setting up your profile, click Continue. The Trimble Connect Projects page opens.

To get you started, Trimble Connect creates a Project for your SketchUp models called My SketchUp Models. The default region for the server where your projects are stored is based on your IP address. You can change the server region at any time.

All SketchUp platforms provide a built-in interface for opening, saving, or importing files from Trimble Connect.
