Setting Up as a Student

Students can start using SketchUp for Schools anytime after an administrator deploys the app for their domain. 

For students accessing SketchUp for Schools from a browser, the easiest way to start is by navigating to edu.sketchup.com. Students can also access the SketchUp for Schools  using Google for Education or Microsoft Education.

If students want to use the SketchUp for Schools app on an iPad, they can only access it using the iPad app, available in the Apple App Store. Students will need to log in using their Google for Education account. 

Google for Education

Students who log in using their Google for Education account can access SketchUp for Schools in a web browser or the iPad app. 

Accessing SketchUp for Schools through the Web App

The easiest way to log in is to navigate to edu.sketchup.com.

To open SketchUp for Schools from the Google navigation menu, students will follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google navigation menu, located in the upper-right corner of the browser. The SketchUp for Schools application usually appears near the bottom half of the list.

  2. Click the SketchUp for Schools app icon.

  3. Click Sign In with Google.

  4. Select the account you want to sign in with. The SketchUp for Schools Home page will appear. They can start modelling.

Accessing SketchUp for Schools on iPads

After students install SketchUp for Schools from the Apple App Store, they enter the login associated with their Google for Education account to get started. 

To log in after installation, students will follow these steps:

  1. Launch SketchUp for Schools, using the SketchUp icon on the Home screen of their iPad.

  2. Log in to their Google for Education account.

Microsoft Education

Students who access SketchUp for Schools with a Microsoft Education account will navigate to edu.sketchup.com. When prompted, the student will click Sign In with Microsoft.

After entering in the login associated with their account, the SketchUp for Schools Home page will appear. They can start modelling.
