Trimble Site Contractor

Trimble Site Contractor (TSC) is a SketchUp extension available as part of the SketchUp Pro Civil Contractor, SketchUp Pro Advanced Workflows, and SketchUp Studio subscriptions.

With SketchUp for Desktop and Trimble Siteworks, TSC helps civil site contractors and other construction professionals prepare sites for development. For example, they can build a 3D excavation design in SketchUp based on a foundation plan, then bring the design into the field for site layout and into a machine for excavation and grading.

TSC lets you easily translate designs into accurate, machine-readable, and field-ready site data. By navigating directly to model points, linework, and surfaces in the field, you can ensure that the digital design is accurately translated onto the ground.

TSC performs the following functions.

  • Converts the Sketchup model into design files compatible with Trimble Siteworks  and the Trimble Siteworks ecosystem.

  • If users have the Trimble Earthworks Grade Control platform, the machine-ready design files can feed Earthworks 3D machine control systems that guide excavation machinery. The results are faster and more accurate excavating.

  • Imports files with geolocated data from Trimble Siteworks or the Trimble Field Points extension into SketchUp, which uses the data as a reference during initial design and revision. For example, points measured in the field can indicate where to start excavating or the location of a sewer line.
