Setting Up as an Administrator

Before students can use SketchUp for Schools, an administrator needs to deploy the SketchUp app. Before deployment make sure that:

  • You enable popups in your browser. The login window may not appear when popups are disabled.
  • Enable third party cookies. Cookies help with account authentication.
Note: The options to enable popups and third party cookies vary based on what browser you are using.

Microsoft Education

To deploy SketchUp for Schools using a Microsoft Education account, follow these steps:

  1. Log out of all Microsoft accounts. Use incognito or private mode on your browser if you aren’t sure.
  2. Go to edu.sketchup.com. A Welcome to SketchUp for Schools dialog appears.
  3. Click Sign In with Microsoft.
  4. Login using an administrator account for your school’s domain.
  5. SketchUp for Schools will request permissions to access your account data. Click the box next to Consent on Behalf of your Organization and click Accept.
  6. Repeat this process as needed for each domain your students and teachers use.

Google for Education

To deploy SketchUp for Schools using a Google Education account, follow these steps:

  1. Login to Google using an administrative account for your school’s domain.
  2. Go to workspace.google.com/marketplace.
  3. Search for and navigate to “SketchUp for Schools.”
  4. On the SketchUp for Schools page, click Admin Install.
  5. Read the information in the dialog that appears and click Continue.
  6. On the next dialog, select Everyone at your Organization and agree to the terms of service.
  7. Click Finish. SketchUp for Schools will now appear in the apps list in the Admin Portal.
  8. Repeat this process as needed for each domain your students and teachers use.
