Access Network Admin Reports

Creating a Trimble Account:

  • To use the Network Admin Report you must have a created a Trimble ID Account, you’ll be prompted to do so upon visiting the landing page.
    • You can use an existing Google account, or you can create a new account for Trimble ID
    • This account MUST be the same email address which is associated with the license(s) you own.
      • Alternatively you can contact SketchUp sales to update the email associated with all of the licenses you’ll be tracking.
    • If you know your license number, then you can have your full license sent to the email address it’s assigned to by visiting this form.

Account access information:

  • In order to view the reports you must have an active Maintenance and Support Plan, otherwise the license number will be greyed out and the details will not be visible.
  • Network License reports are only available for SketchUp 2015 or newer.
  • If there are multiple licenses associated with your email address you’ll see a dropdown menu titled “Network License Report for”, with the option to view a report for each unique license number.

How to read the reports:

  • Session Type:
    • You’re able to choose which session type is displayed by checking or unchecking the desired options. You’re able to choose either, or both, of the options below.
      • Online Sessions (O) - This status occurs when the a seat of the associated license is in use.
      • Checked Out (X) - This status occurs whenever a seat of the license has been checked out.
  • Start Date:
    • By default the start date will be one month prior to the date of the report.
    • You can choose any date after September 25th, 2016 as a start date, no data is available prior to this date.
  • End Date:
    • Can be any date that follows after the designated start date
  • Sortable Data Fields
    • Data fields can be sorted by clicking on the header for the desired column.

The following details regarding the license will be visible in the reports:

  • Search: - You’re able to search your current report using the visible criteria detailed below.
  • License Version: SketchUp Pro 2015, 2016 or 2017
  • Concurrent Seats (Max): The number of seats associated with the license, however many seats were purchased with the license.
  • M & S Exp: Maintenance & Support end date, format of mm/dd/yyyy
  • License Exp: This will only be associated with expiring licenses, such as educational lab licenses.
  • License Status:
    • Active - The current, active license.
    • On Hold - An older license which is no longer active because a new version of license is generated and has not been activated.
    • Pending Deactivation - An older license which is currently active, but is scheduled to be de-activated because the newer license has been activated.
    • If the serial number has been deactivated, it will not be visible.
  • Registered Computers: The number of computers that the serial number has been installed on.
    • Note - If a user activated the license, then removes it, the registered computer count will adjust to reflect one less registered computer.
  • Host Name: A label that is assigned to a device connected to a computer network
  • User Name: A username is a name that uniquely identifies someone on a computer system.
  • Application: SketchUp, LayOut or StyleBuilder
    • If all the applications are open for one user name, there will be three separate lines in the report, but it will be considered as one concurrent seat in use.
    • If multiple SketchUp sessions are open on one computer, there will be separate line items in the report, but it will be counted as just one concurrent seat in use.
    • If a license is in online use (connected to the internet), and also checked out, then two line items will appear in the report. One will show the session as “Online (O)” and one will show the session as “Checked Out (X)”
  • Start:
    • This is the date (with timestamp) that the session began.
    • This is for online, as well as checked out seats
  • End:
    • This is the date (with timestamp) that the session ended.
    • If the application has not been closed, then the end time will show as dashes (------), meaning it is still in use.
    • This is for online, as well as checked out seats
  • Duration (d h,m): This is the format for the duration of the session: d=days, h=hours, m=minutes
  • Checkout Expired?:
    • Shows as “Y” if the license has been checked out, and has been automatically checked back in, after x amount of days.
    • There will be no other data in this field.
  • Session Type:
    • Online Sessions (O) - This status occurs when the a seat of the associated license is in use.
    • Checked Out (X) - This status occurs whenever a seat of the license has been checked out.

Graph

  • Dates: The dates along the bottom of the graph (horizontal) reflected are the same as the ones chosen above, while creating the report.
  • Seat Count: The number of seat counts shows on the vertical line on the left side of the graph.
  • Categories:
    • Unique Computers: The number of computers that have been used per day, during the chosen time period.
      • This can be any or all of the three applications mentioned above.
    • Max Concurrent Users: The number of users who are simultaneously using any of the applications at the same time.
    • Max Checked Out Seats: The maximum number of users who have checked out a seat of the license, per day.

Exporting Reports

You can export a report of usage activity by clicking
  • Save Button: By clicking on the save button, the system will automatically create and download a .csv file containing all of the report data mentioned above
    • The resulting CSV file contains all of the data detailed above.
  • The graph can be saved from the Chart Context Menu (located to the right side of the graph, appearing as three lines) as .jpg, .png, .pdf or .svg format.
