Zoom Tool: Zooming in and zooming out of your model

NOTICE: SketchUp 2015 is here! When you look at this Knowledge Center article, be sure to pick "SketchUp 2015" from the red box above to see the 2015 version of that content. If there is no version picker, this content applies to all versions of SketchUp.

Zooming in and zooming out of your model

To zoom in and out using the Zoom Tool:

  1. Select the Zoom tool. The cursor changes to a magnifying glass.
  2. Click and hold anywhere in the drawing area. Note that the zoom speed depends on the geometry behind the mouse cursor. If you place the cursor on geometry that's further away in the viewport, the zoom speed will go fast. Similarly, the zoom speed will appear slower if your mouse cursor is over geometry that's relatively close to the viewport.
  3. Move the cursor up to zoom in (closer to the model) and down to zoom out (farther from the model).
