Generating an Attribute Report

This is a Pro only feature.

An Attribute Report is a comma separated or html file containing all the attributes and values in a model or in a selection. This report will include Dynamic Component attributes and the attributes of components which have been classified with a Type. To generate an Attribute Report:

An Attribute Report is a comma separated or html file containing all the attributes and values in a model or in a selection. This report will include Dynamic Components attributes if Dynamic Components are present in the model. To generate an Attribute Report:

  1. Use the Select Tool to select one or more entities in the model. Each selected entity's bounding box is highlighted.
  2. Select File > Generate Report. The Generate Report dialog is displayed.
  3. Click the All model attributes button to save a report with all attributes in your model or click the Current selection attributes to save a report with the attributes in your current selection.
  4. Click on the Generate HTML file button or Generate CSV file button to generate either an HTML or CSV file.
  5. Click the Save button. The Attribute Report is saved.
  6. (Windows) Click the Yes button to display the Attribute Report. The report is displayed in Microsoft Excel (or any program that can display .csv files).
You can select all components, such as all cabinets, in a scene that has cost attributes. Then, use the SUM formula in Microsoft Excel (after creating an Attribute Report) to calculate the total cost of all items in the selection set. This same method can be used to calculate total board feet for wood used in a project, and so on.
